IBS, Colitis, and Crohn's - They are all the same Condition
Hear Dr. Snow explain why these are all the same condition, just different levels of severity.
Crohn’s Disease Facts And Myths
If you suffer from Crohn’s Disease, you should have some accurate information about it.
1. Crohn’s Disease is not a disease. It is a manmade inflammatory bowel condition.
2. A Crohn’s Disease diagnosis just means that there is more damage to the colon than IBS, Colitis, or UC.
3. Scopes and blood work tell you nothing valuable about your bowel condition. The only thing that has any value is your symptoms.
4. If you have Crohn’s Disease you likely do not need surgery unless you have waited too long for the proper care.
5. There are effective treatments for inflammatory bowel conditions. They just happen to be natural vs chemical.
6. The only treatment needed is one that rebuilds the bowel tissue. This treatment uses the natural, organic, raw materials that the flesh of the bowel is made of. The colon is not made of Prednisone.
7. The only dietary restrictions are to temporarily eat a low fiber diet of no raw fruit, no raw vegetables, no nuts, seeds, or corn. We don’t need to drag roughage over an already inflamed colon.
8. Crohn’s is a manmade condition from the prior use of synthetic antibiotics taken for some other health issue that destroyed the mucosal lining of the colon.
9. Crohn’s disease symptoms are incessant diarrhea, blood, mucus, undigested food in the stool, and inflammation.
Polyps Are Our Friend
Polyps in our colon are our friend. They are there to protect us. The conditions that bring them about are unnatural but they are natural and we can thank nature for them.
Our colon is supposed to be protected by the mucosal lining. When we have antibiotics they kill off this lining and we no longer have anything protecting the tender skin that makes up the colon wall. It is just skin that is no different than the skin on the palm of your hand. This allows the harsh stomach acids and passing food to make direct contact with it. This irritates the tissue and over time will cause damage.
To prevent or minimize this the body will create polyps which are nothing more than extra layers of skin to protect this tissue. A good analogy is if we are shoveling a hole. If we take our gloves off and keep digging we will eventually develop blisters. If we keep digging we will eventually develop calluses on our hands. A polyp is a callus. If we don’t get calluses in our colon what we get is colitis. If we don’t get the proper care (putting the gloves back on) which is replacing the mucosal lining we will get a colon full of calluses / polyps. At that point the polyps will no longer be our friend. We will loose the function of our bowel and if left unattended we will be a higher risk for colon cancer.
How do you prevent all of this? By putting our gloves back on and keeping them on.
IBS-C
People with IBS-C actually have two conditions. They suffer from both constipation and diarrhea. Well, not at the same time. They swing back and forth often in the same day.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation is quite common. The most common is the version featuring diarrhea. The bowel’s response to inflammation is to draw a lot of water into the colon to dilute the stomach acid and to push everything out to try to limit the damage to the tissue. That is called diarrhea. We need this to happen otherwise we will have rapid tissue erosion and will be on our way to Colitis or Crohn’s.
The difference with those of you who have the constipation version is genetics. Constipation is not manmade, it is who you are. The issue with constipation is that you don’t pull water into your bowel adequately hence you have dry and hard stools and when your body is trying to protect you it cannot pull enough water in to create the desired diarrhea. People with IBS-C stand a greater risk of increased damage to their colon because of this.
Treatment for IBS-C can be trickier to treat than the diarrhea version as you need to implement two strategies at once. Ultimately you need to repair the inside of your colon fixing the “irritable” part of the problem and you will also need to learn how to manage the constipation part. Diarrhea can be cured. Constipation must be managed.
Colitis "Diet"
No need to get freaked out over food. Forget all the theories. It’s not about sugar, wheat, dairy, nightshade, macrobiotic-vegetarian-food combining-whatever. You cannot heal any inflammatory bowel condition with any kind of diet. In fact, you cannot even create one. As for inflammatory bowel conditions food is vastly overrated.
The only dietary goal you should have is to not irritate your colon anymore than it already is while you are getting it healed with the proper holistic treatment. To do this there are only three food rules.
1. Eat low fiber foods that won’t scrape up against the already inflamed intestinal tissue.
2. If any other food bothers you when you eat it stop for now. You will get back to eating whatever you want later.
3. Do yourself a favor, forget everything else!
Inflammatory Bowel Confusion
There are a lot of questions concerning inflammatory bowel conditions. I don’t blame you if you are scared to death after leaving your doctor’s office. Lot’s of mumbo-jumbo. It is often true that if you go to 2-3 doctors that you will get 2-3 different opinions. It should not be so complicated!
Modern medical science wants to fragment everything out. They can’t see the forest for the trees. There are not an infinite number of inflammatory bowel conditions. There is only one and the rest of what we think are different are just a variation of it. They are all IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. In every case the colon is irritated. There can be a little or a lot of irritation. We don’t have to give it different names. A small amount of irritation brings about small symptoms. Big creates big. All of these are the same manmade conditions with just different amounts of damage to the bowel tissue. This is just like 1st-2nd-3rd degree burns.
It does not matter what part of the GI tract muscle is injured. It’s all the same. It’s one long muscle from your mouth to your rectum. What counts are the symptoms, our ‘body language.’ We need to become fluent in body language. It is speaking to us telling us there is something wrong. It is screaming-diarrhea, gas, bloating, blood, mucus - help! All of these symptoms are just different ways for your GI tract to say ‘ouch.’
Don’t get hung up on whatever name they give you, whether it’s Colitis or Crohn’s. Remember they are all the same. A big boo-boo or small boo-boo. It is the same muscle tissue, the same cause and the same cure. Listen to your body.
Crohn’s Disease Basics
Let’s clear up some misconceptions to reduce some of the unnecessary panic and get on the right path.
1. Crohn’s is 100% curable with the proper use of natural medicine.
2. Crohn’s is just a more severe case of ulcerative colitis which is just a more severe case of colitis which is just a more severe case of IBS.
3. Crohn’s is just another one of the inflammatory bowel diseases – which are not diseases.
4. Crohn’s is not an auto-immune disease. It is a manmade condition as all of the above are.
5. If you have diarrhea- blood and mucus in your stool as well as pain and bloating you likely have Crohn’s, a non disease.
Diverticulitis Causes
These are the same as any other inflammatory bowel condition. Essentially it is a man made injury. Diverticulitis does not just occur naturally, as does diverticulosis, which is a breakdown of the internal bowel tissue – this comes about mainly from aging. Diverticulitis occurs when there has been damage to the mucosal lining that protects the intestinal tissue from digestive acids and food passing by. These then erode the GI wall until there is a “pot hole” deep enough to hit nerve tissue, at which point you feel pain. This can also bring about acute, urgent diarrhea. The only difference between this and IBS, Colitis, and Crohn’s is that with Diverticulitis you will have one or two “pin holes” that go very deep. With the other conditions you will have multiple locations, more like gashes and not necessarily as deep, impacting nerve tissue and blood vessels and occurs in acute episodes not chronically.
What DOES happen in relation to diverticulosis is the “pocket” becomes perforated, essentially an ulcer (ulcerated colitis?) and you will then see blood in the stool. When you see mucus in the stool that is your body’s desperate attempt to block the hole and stop the bleeding. If that is not taken care of properly and you are on some drug thinking you are doing good, the mucus thing will finally give out and now you're at Crohn’s Disease.
The cause of Diverticulitis is the same as any other IBD, because they ARE same thing. The difference is, how long did you wait to get proper care and therefore how much damage was done.
Don’t Ignore the 5 Primary Symptoms of Colitis
The symptoms of Colitis are no fun. They include severe stomach pain and diarrhea to name a few. Colitis is a serious problem that causes the lining of the large intestine to be inflamed and swollen.
The primary cause of colitis is our exposure to synthetic manmade antibiotics which our environment is saturated with whether through prescription oral or topical antibiotics or from our tainted food and water supply and also antibacterial home cleaning products. Antibiotics destroy the mucosal lining of the intestines. Without this lining the health of our colon declines dramatically, since the lining protects the tissue in our gastrointestinal tract.
Once damaged our body’s digestive enzymes start eating and irritating the bowel lining. This is exactly what inflammatory bowel conditions like IBS and Crohn’s are and how we get them.
These are the five most common symptoms of Colitis.
1. Diarrhea: This can range from mild and occasional to frequent with unpredictable urgency. Diarrhea is often triggered by eating and then having to run to the bathroom. Some people have a condition known as IBS-C, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome with constipation. This latter condition is found most commonly in people genetically pre-disposed to constipation. Constipation is caused by the body failing to properly hydrate the stool. This is never caused by something that you are doing wrong. It is who you are and you can perfectly manage it-but you cannot not cure it the way you can with diarrhea.
2. Intestinal and stomach pain: While sometimes this may indicate a stomach bug or food poisoning if it persists it may be from colitis.
3. Bloody stools: That’s a dead giveaway that you have ulcerative colitis.
4. Mucus in stool: This is a dead giveaway that you are headed for Crohn’s Disease.
While not a physical symptom, this last one may be the most paralyzing side effect of colitis and any IBD.
5. Paranoia: This is seen in someone who is too afraid to leave home to attend social events, go the mall, go out to eat, or go to a movie. They have lived with this problem for so long that they have become shut-ins. Paranoia is most commonly found in those suffering from more than just IBS. Many have had accidents and even when cured find it difficult to leave the safety of their home for more than a short period of time.
The bottom line is that you don’t have to tolerate this pain, physical and psychological, any longer. Taking drugs isn’t the answer, you have already tried that. Look for alternatives. Do some research. Ask questions. In the meantime, don’t ignore these five primary symptoms of colitis.
Leaky Gut Syndrome – What A Mess
I have been trying to figure out the exact cause of this condition for a long time. I now realize why it was so difficult to crack the code. There are many causes of this increasingly common gastrointestinal problem. It is the result of a GI tract that has been attacked by numerous vagaries of modern living.
Poor quality food as well as a severely restricted diet. Our ancestors ate a much wider variety of foods. One example is in the 1920’s they ate as many as 30 different berries and 10-15 types of nuts. And they ate the whole food. We only get what is left over after it is processed to death. Our body needs the unique nutrients that are contained in those foods.
A chemical saturated environment: everything we ingest and touch is laced with chemicals that have many altering effects on our own biochemistry. The explosion over the last 20 years of new synthetic antibiotics are everywhere, including our food and water supply, and all of our health and beauty and toiletry products. We are a bacteria phobic culture.
Because of the unavoidable facts above, we are falling apart. We have become a walking semi-food/semi-hemical blob staggering around. We are a culture whose immunity is so weak we can’t stop things from growing on us and in us (give me more antibiotics in my antiperspirants, mouthwash, tooth pastes, and household cleaners please!) Because of this we can’t properly heal and maintain the integrity of our bodily tissues.
Hence, Leaky Gut Syndrome. Why the term ‘syndrome?’ That is used because there are many contributing causes as stated above. We have holes in the wall of our stomach. Because of this undigested food particles as well as preservatives and whatever else we swallow pass unprocessed directly into the blood stream causing our immune system to freak out and to set off all kinds of alarms = food allergies / intolerances.
There is a long list of other symptoms such a malnutrition, fatigue, skin issues, learning issues, pain syndromes, headaches, high cholesterol, sugar management, all types of allergies - you name it! Do you have one of those kids that seems to react to everything? Why do we need peanut-free zones all of a sudden?
We have sprung a leak at the top of the biochemical assembly line, the gut, where it all begins. The complicated part is figuring out what causes this and how to live with it.
The easier part is healing it. Supplements and herbs are what we need to heal this. This can require quite simple nutrients, but we must know how to dispense them and what ones to use (typically ones that are predigested so as to not stress this broken system and set off the alarms.)
The Great Bone Broth Hoax
Bone Broth supposedly having magical health properties to help with IBD is just flat out junk.
There is nothing nutritive in this stuff that is not readily available in most any other food. There are literally dozens and dozens of stories on line and on blogs of people who experimented with doing the Bone Broth Diet and they all concluded the same thing, it does not work!
Let me make this completely clear - all of the inflammatory bowel conditions: IBS, Colitis, Crohn’s, Leaky Gut—even GERD can be healed, but it is impossible unless you
ingest nutritional supplements that contain concentrated amounts of what heals skin, fat, and muscle...what your GI tract is made of.
Bone Broth does not have any of those nutrients.
What Causes Inflammatory Bowel Disease?
If you have been told that you have Inflammatory Bowel Disease you are likely in the dark about what initially caused this condition. Your doctor may have told you that the causes for your ailment are unknown. That is not true. Your doctor isn’t holding back useful information from you. The truth is that doctors are not taught in medical school what causes issues like irritable bowel syndrome. As a result, physicians don’t have any helpful information to relay to their patients. Inflammatory bowel conditions were never discussed before the 1950’s. This is because they did not exist. There were certainly many stomach and bowel maladies but these were temporary and aside from homemade elixirs they just passed with time. For these simple conditions plop-plop-fizz-fizz was all we needed.
Now there is a new kid on the block. It all happened just after WW2 when manmade synthetic antibiotics were unleashed into our environment and in our bodies. These have a devastating effect upon our gastrointestinal tracts. Being very effective they killed everything bacterial that crossed their path. There was nowhere that was more effected than our gastrointestinal tract. The inside of our bowel is protected by a good bacterial culture known as the mucosal lining. We need this to survive.
This is the beginning of the history of inflammatory bowel conditions. Prior to this there was no substance that could kill off the mucosal lining. No one ever suffered from any IBD. There are graphs available that show the parallel increase of antibiotics use and the increase in inflammatory bowel conditions. None of this is coincidental. Don’t look to your doctor for help with this. They have bought the antibiotic treatment concept hook, line, and sinker. In fact, if you go to them with a bowel problem you are likely to leave their office with a just a prescription.
The Truth About What IBS is Not
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is not a syndrome.
IBS is not an auto-immune disease. In fact no inflammatory bowel condition is, including Crohn’s Disease.
IBS is not just going to go away. There is no such thing as remission. You may be able to dampen the symptoms somewhat for a while by juggling foods. Then because you have gone so long without the proper care it will bounce back on you with a vengeance. This is especially true if you take the route of Prednisone or immune suppressant meds.
IBS left untreated is called Colitis.
IBS is not going to be fixed by your doctor.
IBS is not caused by a poor diet and is not going to be fixed by changing your diet. You can’t eat your way into or out of IBS.
You can’t heal IBS by taking taking bowel cleansers or colonics. They are the opposite of what is needed. They will make it worse!
IBS is not something you have to live with.
Is fiber good for me? It depends…
There is more to know about fiber than you think!
If you have an inflammatory bowel condition it can be complicated and you could do yourself more harm than good.
We all think about fiber being good for constipation, which it is, but there is more to the story. What compounds this problem is that your doctor usually does not understand this and recommends fiber to anyone with any kind of bowel problem.
A doctor should never prescribe fiber if there is evidence of IBS, Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s, as it will make it worse. This is one of the misunderstandings about fiber.
If you give fiber to someone who has chronic constipation – that’s a good thing. Give it to someone with IBD – that’s a bad thing.
Probiotics for IBS: Proven Tips for Effective Treatment with Probiotics
You may have heard that you should be taking probiotics for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
What are they anyhow? Probiotics are live beneficial microorganisms like bacteria or yeast that are available in supplements and foods. Amazingly enough, our digestive system is home to more than 500 species of bacteria all of which help keep our intestines healthy and regulate a healthy immune system.
When the balance of healthy bacteria is upset in the GI tract after the ingestion of antibiotics the lining of the intestines becomes damaged. Introducing new organisms like those found in probiotics helps restore that imbalance and improves the integrity of the intestinal lining.
Probiotics are a very important tool in treating any gastrointestinal disorder such as acid reflux, gas, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea, IBS, colitis, ulcerative colitis and crohn’s.
In order to get the maximum benefits of probiotics for IBS, there are 8 basic rules to follow when using probiotics for treatment of your Irritable Bowel Disease:
1. Conditions: You should take probiotics if you have any inflammatory bowel condition.
2. Refrigeration: Be sure that the probiotic is kept refrigerated. Lack of refrigeration will render them ineffective no matter what anyone tells you.
3. Multiple bacterial strains: Make sure that the probiotic contains multiple strains of bacteria and understand what they do and what ones you need. Do your homework.
4. Adequate dosage: Make sure that you ingest an adequate amount of the probiotic, whether in capsules or powder. Failing to do so is one of the biggest mistakes that people make. There’s no need to worry about an overdose — that’s not possible. Find a good probiotic and take a bunch of it.
5. Post-antibiotic treatment: Always take probiotics immediately after finishing any antibiotics.
6. Yogurt myth: IBS cannot be reversed by eating lots of yogurt. You need way more potency than yogurt can provide.
7. Food: Do not take probiotics with food. You should take them either 30 minutes prior to eating or one hour after eating.
8. Explaining your recovery: Don’t bother to try and explain to your physician how you made a complete recovery from IBS. Even though they have gone holistic they won’t really understand. It is just not in their training.
If you follow these tips for taking probiotics for IBS or any other inflammatory bowel condition you will be taking a good first step on your way to complete healing.
The Truth About What IBS Is
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a man-made condition. It is not a syndrome or disease.
IBS is not genetic.
IBS is caused by the ingestion of antibiotics in any of it’s various forms, be it prescription, topical, or in household cleaners, toothpaste, mouthwash or our food and water supply. Our environment is saturated with them.
IBS did not exist before antibiotics did.
IBS is the least severe of all of the inflammatory bowel conditions.
IBS is defined by the presence of chronic and sometimes urgent diarrhea.
IBS can also give you excessive gas, bloating, and nausea.
If your symptoms are more severe than these you probably have Colitis.
There is no effective medical treatment for IBS.
There is an effective naturopathic and holistic treatment for IBS.
IBS is completely and permanently healable.
When Is Your IBS Cured?
How do you know when your IBS is cured? This also goes for any other inflammatory bowel condition.
Here is the only rational answer: listen to your body. You will know when your symptoms are gone for an extended period of time.
What is extended? This would be a minimum of 6 months without any symptoms. Of course this also means that you are able to do so without the aid of any drugs, dietary supplements, dietary or lifestyle restrictions. Otherwise you would not be able to properly gauge your true status.
We all need to take a course in body language which are the symptoms - the presence or lack of. Our body is talking to us. Every other diagnostic method is secondary.
You don’t need a colonoscopy to tell you what is going on– the toilet will tell you. Trust your body and it will tell you if something is right or wrong.
‘Do you have diarrhea, bloating, gas, stomach or intestinal pain?’ ‘Have you seen any mucus or blood in your stool?’ If not, then what else are we looking for?
Holistic Treatment For IBS
So you're looking for a holistic treatment for IBS that works. I'm assuming that because you are looking for a more natural treatment for your irritable bowel condition, that you have tried everything your gastroenterologist has suggested.
Did this iclude...
Colonoscopy — the most common response is ‘didn’t see anything—looks normal, or looks a little inflamed in there.’
‘Here is a prescription for——. There isn’t anything else I can do for you.’
‘But come back and see me in a month.’ (Didn’t you just say there was nothing you could do?)
‘Hey doc before I leave any recommendations about diet?’ ‘Sure-eat a high fiber diet.’ Which is the exact opposite of what to eat.
So, I am sure you have been there & done that.
Or did you hear about the newest "natural" medical treatment (this is scary, you can’t make this stuff up)? Fecal transplantation (or bacteriotherapy) is the transfer of stool from a healthy donor into the gastrointestinal tract for the purpose of treating recurrent C. difficile colitis, and now they are using it for IBS, Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis, and Crohn’s Disease. And by ‘healthy donor' they mean void of any disease. If they had any idea what they are doing they would mean that the stool was populated with healthy probiotic bacteria. Then again they will tell you that it is sterile, but in the process of sterilization they would kill anything that was good in it! For the life of me I cannot figure out why you wouldn't just swallow a probiotic capsule.
Lastly–you will get some people who think they are smart who will say something like—‘you have to do it rectally because orally the bacteria won’t survive the acidity of the digestive tract.’ Wrong – Wrong – Wrong. Any good probiotic is coated in a way that protects it! If this theory of Fecal Transplant is valid does this mean that women for millennia have been nursing their babies on the wrong end?
Science just can’t trust nature.
Here are some other supposed Holistic Diets that don’t work (if your definition of ‘work’ is to be healed or cured.) Most of you have tried at least one of these but still have a problem.
These are diets that will not cure IBS, although they may make you a little more comfortable:
Fodmap: this is an unnecessarily complicated manipulation of certain carbohydrate foods that have specific molecular configurations. What I love about this one is they throw all of this theory at you and give you some guidelines and then say ‘everyone is different so you will need to experiment for yourself.’ Get your microscope ready!
Gluten Free: These people sometimes find that if they stop eating foods that contain gluten that their symptoms, such as gas, bloating, and diarrhea go away, but they have no idea why.
Dairy Free: what happens when you slip up and have a smidgen of ice cream or some pizza?
Elimination Diet: this is the culmination of all of the above. You get to the point where all you can consume is white rice and water—on a good day.
There are a zillion more ‘holistic diets’ just like these. What do they all have in common? They all play the blame game, it’s the food’s fault, they are just juggling and manipulating foods. None of them work because food does not work. You cannot eat your way into or out of IBS.
Food has nothing to do with being the cause or the cure!
However there is one valid rule regarding food and IBS: Eat a Low Fiber Diet.
No Raw Fruit
No Raw Vegs
No Nuts
No Seeds
No Corn
Why? Because these are ‘rough’ and will further damage and irritate an already damaged and irritated colon.
It seems counter intuitive doesn’t it. You have to temporarily eat ‘unhealthy’ to get healthy.
Why Do I Have Mucus In My Stool?
People who see mucus in their stool are always scared and confused. They can understand diarrhea but mucus? It might sound surprising to know that this is happening for a good reason. It is trying to protect you.
This occurs in more advanced cases of inflammatory bowel conditions such as Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s. In these conditions there is considerable damage to the intestinal wall as it is being assaulted by your digestive acids. As the damage gets deeper and close to making contact with nerve and blood tissue it attempts to protect you by releasing mucus into the bowel to stick to the wall to protect it from the acids. Because this is only a stop-gap measure the mucus eventually slides out along with the stool.
Do not ignore this, as it's a sign that you are losing control of the inflammation that is destroying your colon and are headed towards surgery.
Colitis Cures?
I was asked this yesterday. ‘Are there any good colitis cures?’ My answer was ‘yes there is one – it’s a natural one and it’s the same as the one for IBS and Crohn’s.’ Any other inflammatory bowel condition cure is bogus. Why is this so? It’s because these are all the same condition with the same cause and the same cure.
What is the alternative? Covering up the symptoms of colitis with synthetic drugs is not a cure. You would be surprised at how many people think so. One person told me- ‘I don’t have a bowel problem—- I take prednisone!’
The one true cure is to rebuild the colon using the organic raw materials that it is made of. The last that I checked colons are not made of chemicals.
Exploring the Train of Pain
You may not realize that the various inflammatory bowel conditions are actually related: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis, and Crohn’s. Let’s take a minute and look at these conditions. From the point of view of a naturopathic practitioner each of these issues is really just a progressively worse version of the previous one.
With each of these conditions as time goes by without the proper treatment there is more and more damage being done to the tissue of the GI tract. You can compare this damage to that of first, second, and third degree burns. As the level of a burn gets higher not only is it more painful but also more complicated to treat.
I call this progression ‘the train of pain.’ Each GI issue can be considered a stop along the way. The symptoms accumulate at each ‘stop.’
The 1st stop is Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The symptoms here include some pain that is more like cramping, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. These symptoms are barely tolerable and as the train runs down the track do nothing but get worse.
The next stop is Colitis. Now the symptoms of IBS have gotten more pronounced especially the diarrhea which by now has become urgent and intolerable.
As we keep rumbling down the line the next stop is Ulcerative Colitis. Nobody likes this stop especially those who can’t stand the site of blood—in their toilet bowel!
Now we find ourselves getting to the end of the line. We are running out of tract—as in gastrointestinal tract from our digestive acids eroding our colon. Imagine all of the above symptoms ramped up to another level with the addition of mucus in the stool. This is the last stop on the line - Crohn’s. You don’t want to go there.
All of this pain and suffering can be avoided if you jump off that train early by seeking an alternative means of getting where you really want to go—perfect colon health.
What is col-itis?
This is pretty simple—–itis = irritation-pain-inflammation.
Ulcerative Colitis just means that the colon has an ulcer which results when the itis is either ignored or does not receive proper treatment.
IC-Interstitial Cystitis is exactly the same condition but occurs in the bladder and as with colitis can be very painful.
Sinusitis – bronchitis – arthritis are all the same thing just in different locations.
If you’ve got pain you’ve got an itis and in all of these examples the tissue can be repaired and you can then live a normal itis free life.
BTW regarding arthritis often times the pain that we experience in any part of the body is referred pain particularly from the gastro-intestinal tract and I can’t tell you how many times when repairing someone’s colon they also found that these other aches and pains either went completely away or improved significantly.
The Truth About What Ulcerative Colitis Is
Ulcerative Colitis is essentially when you have holes in the wall of your colon.
Ulcerative Colitis is when you have blood and sometimes mucus in your stool.
Ulcerative Colitis is not a disease.
Ulcerative Colitis is a manmade condition.
Ulcerative Colitis is caused by the post WW2 indiscriminate prescribing of manmade synthetic antibiotics. These are lethal weapons and the state of our gastro-intestinal and immune systems are the result of it.
Ulcerative Colitis is what happens when you wait too long to get the proper care which is not prednisone or immune suppressing drugs.
Ulcerative Colitis is a degenerative condition. This means that it does not sit still or go into remission. It does not just somehow go away on it’s own. It just keeps breaking down your colon and it is just a matter of time before it becomes Crohn’s.
Ulcerative Colitis is misunderstood. Everything you’ve been told and read online is wrong.
All of these conditions, IBS, Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s are the same condition with the only difference being the amount of damage to the tissue. This is no different than 1st-2nd-3rd degree burns.
UC is 100% fixable. The same goes for all of them.
Hail, Hail Antibiotics! The Double Edged Sword
I have harped many times on this blog about the evils of antibiotics. Now it is time to give praise where praise is due. Hail, hail the life saver— hail, hail antibiotics!
Hail, hail Mother Nature —for giving us penicillin! Hail, hail Louis Pasteur for discovering it!
Hail, hail my grandmother who in our house taught us to fight over the gray/green moldy looking stuff on the bread! Before refrigeration our ancestors got their daily dose of natural antibiotics—nature’s gift—penicillin.
Penicillin being alive and intelligent is a natural resident in our life there to keep the inner ‘landscape’ balanced. That is until science got a hold of it and pumped it up to a ridiculous potency. Throwing it and us out of balance by opening Pandora’s Box.
Hail, hail the fact that we couldn’t live without antibiotics!
Hail, hail the fact that I will be the first in line if I need them!
Hail, hail the knowledge about what to do after we take this miracle natural medicine! Penicillin functions within the ‘whole’-maintaining balance. The new stuff can blow a hole in your colon in one dose.
The biggest problem that we have now is the man-made synthetic antibiotics. One example is cipro which will kill anthrax. This chemical will go into your body and devastate you immune system in 1 dose.
If you really really want an inflammatory bowel condition go get some of this stuff or something of it’s ilk.
Please! For your own sake and that of your children before you run down to the drugstore ask your doctor what this stuff that he prescribed is and what are the side effects. That’s just very basic and not even one of you do that.
Hail, hail the knowledge of pro (for life) biotics!
Hail, hail the fact that with this knowledge each one of us can avoid or reverse the manmade ‘conditions’ such as IBS, Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease!
Hail, hail The Golden Rule of Bowel Management- if you take an anti (against life) biotic then take a pro (good bacteria) biotic—that will save your quality of life!
Inflammatory Bowel Conditions Permanently Healed
If you have an inflammatory bowel condition the good news is that with the proper treatment you can permanently repair your gastrointestinal tract. The means is to replace the mucosal lining which protects the tissue of the intestinal wall. This tissue is made up of skin, fat, and muscle. Without the mucosal lining our stomach acid erodes the wall and over time will create the symptoms of IBD. Using nutritional supplements that contain the ingredients of what the mucosal lining and intestinal wall are made of it is possible to permanently recover from these conditions.
Whether you have Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis, or Crohn’s this all applies to you. The longer you go without the proper treatment the more damage will be done to your colon. The proper treatment is the use of naturopathic medicine to repair this tissue and once done you will find that you will be able to live symptom and maintenance free.
