Working closely with engineers from Harmon Kardon the SENA 50s was designed to provide a premium audio experience coupled with a robust and reliable way to communicate with other riders in your group. The result is a communication system with superior sound quality that allows riders to configure for a variety of conditions and any number of riders.
The Bluetooth Intercom which features the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology will handle up to four riders and includes the Headset Profile (HSP), Hands-free Profile (HFP), Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and the Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). These advanced features provide a product profile that meets all the needs of motorcyclists and can be configured to work well for both off-road and street riders in groups large or small.
The Group Mesh intercom can handle up to 24 riders while the Multi-Channel Open Mesh Intercom can handle a virtually limitless number of riders. The Open Mesh Intercom also features 9 separate channels to choose from if you want to have a more private space to talk or if you want to segment certain activities to a specific channel like Emergencies. This kind of flexibility is one of the biggest advantages of the SENA 50s unit.
The SENA 50s system is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0, works seamlessly with digital assistants like Siri and Google and features 10 preset radio station memory for frequencies 76-108 mhz and Advanced Noise Control. We all know that not everybody rides at the same speed but that is not a problem with a range of up to 1.2 miles coupled with the amazing mesh technology that allows riders to link through each other to extend the range forward and backward to other riders. This means that no matter how spread out the group gets they can still communicate from the front of the pack to the back of the pack. The unit also includes the Sena Multi-Language Voice Command that supports 8 different foreign languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian,. Chinese, Japanese, and Russian!
The SENA unit attaches to the helmet securely and a boom mike with wind cover extends in front of your mouth for easy positioning and adjustment of the microphone. A pair of Harmon Kardon speakers mount inside the helmet under the liner and provide the kind of quality sound Harmon Kardon is famous for.
Download the compatible SENA App for your phone and you can control everything from your channel settings to setting up a private group or adjusting the soundscape with the EQ presets to give the audio inside your helmet more punch.
Overall the SENA 50s is a complete communications system specifically designed for use with helmets of any kind. Our latest experience with the SENA units was a multi-day test of
Kawasaki Teryx UTVs and the SENA units proved once again to be an invaluable piece of equipment for our crew. We utilized four SENA 50s units during the shoot enabling our team to more effectively coordinate our video shots and easily and quickly communicate instructions between the camera operator and the drivers saving us valuable time and ensuring that we got the shots we wanted the first time. The units proved to be very reliable and over the course of a week of heavy testing we never had any issues with the units failing or vibrating loose.
